The Face Recognition Door Lock System is a modern security system that uses facial recognition as the primary method for unlocking and locking doors. This system is designed to enhance security and user convenience by replacing the use of physical keys. Currently, the wardens and executive committee members at the Dormitory Operations Room only use manual keys. This can cause inconvenience as they have to carry the keys everywhere, and it also increases the likelihood that other students could enter the room without permission. The facial recognition process involves capturing and analyzing the unique features of a person’s face. The system consists of several key components, including a high-definition camera to scan the user’s face, infrared sensors to ensure recognition can occur in low-light conditions, and an electronic locking mechanism that controls the door based on the recognition results. This system was developed to address issues such as the theft of important data and documents, as well as unauthorized access to the Dormitory Operations Room. A survey was used as the data collection instrument, and 40 respondents agreed that this system could solve the problems stated. One suggestion for improvement is to enhance the lighting around the camera to better detect faces, especially in dark conditions. Overall, the Face Recognition Door Lock System is an innovation that can improve access control in various locations and provide a higher level of security.
