i-Rakaat is a smart device designed to help Muslims, especially dementia patients and the elderly, keep track of their rakaat during solat. The device uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect two sujud in each rakaat and provides sound and light signals as feedback. It was created through the Engineering Design Process (EDP) and improved based on real feedback from users at a care centre. The final version is smaller, more comfortable, and easier to use. Testing showed that 100% of users found the improved version helpful and effective. i-Rakaat supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 9, and 10 by promoting well-being, innovation, and accessibility. The product has been registered with MyIPO under pattern number DV2025004283 and is ready for market use. With a price of only RM20, i-Rakaat is one of the most affordable sensor-based solat tools in Malaysia, making prayer easier, safer, and more confident for people with memory challenges.
