In Malaysia, carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning in cars has caused deaths, especially when people sleep inside or when children are left in locked vehicles. CO is a colorless, odorless, and poisonous gas that hampers oxygen delivery in the body. To address this, a device was developed to detect and prevent CO buildup by automatically opening car windows for ventilation. It can also be controlled via smartphone. The system uses a SIM-enabled detector to alert users when CO levels reach 10 ppm, providing an efficient way to prevent CO-related accidents.
