Medicinal plants are valued for their phytochemicals and therapeutic uses. This study examined Oldenlandia corymbosa, Striga asiatica, and Phyllanthus niruri collected from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Dried, powdered samples were extracted using hot water, ethyl acetate, and ethanol for 48 hours. All extracts contained flavonoids and phenolics, while resins appeared only in ethanolic extracts and steroids were absent. ATR-FTIR revealed hydroxyl, lipid, alkane, amino acid, benzoic, and phenol groups. Hot-water extracts inhibited both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, with P. niruri showing strongest activity. Oils from these herbs replaced palm oil in a portable herbal soap that effectively removes germs.
