ABSTRACT

The leading to a more sustainable and productive approach to brick cutting construction industry plays an essential role in the development of modern society. From residential homes to large-scale infrastructure, construction shapes how we live, work, and interact. However, achieving high standards of quality requires significant expertise, particularly in tasks like bricklaying, which demands precision and consistency. For construction students, learning to cut and measure bricks accurately can be a daunting task due to limited practical experience and training. Mistakes such as inaccurate measurements or poorly executed cuts often result in wasted materials, increased costs, and delays in project timelines. The Smart Measurement Tools innovation was designed to address these issues. It aims to simplify the process of measuring and cutting bricks, allowing students to develop their skills with greater confidence and efficiency. By providing a reliable and user-friendly tool, it bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the demands of the construction industry.The overarching objective of the Smart Measurement Tools is to enhance the learning experience of construction students by minimizing errors and improving efficiency. While primarily intended for educational purposes, the tool’s versatility extends its applications to professional construction environments, particularly for small-scale projects and entry-level workers. The goal is to design and develop a Smart Measuring Brick Cutter, an automated tool that will integrate advanced measuring and cutting technology to address the challenges above. The development of a Smart Measuring Brick Cutter has the potential to revolutionize brick cutting in the construction industry.
