Alzheimer’s Disease is the 7th leading cause of death worldwide. This study evaluated the neuroprotective potential of Moringa oleifera (malunggay) leaf ethanolic extract against deltamethrin-induced neurotoxicity in Drosophila melanogaster. A total of 200 adult flies were divided into four groups: experimental (extract + deltamethrin), positive control (Donepezil + deltamethrin), disease control (deltamethrin only), and negative control (untreated), with 50 flies per group. Behavioral and survival parameters, negative geotaxis, startle response, and mortality rate were assessed. Malunggay treated flies exhibited improved climbing ability (6.64 s vs 8.92 s), better startle response (1.00 vs 2.00), and higher survival (88% vs 14%), indicating significant neuroprotective efficacy.
