We believe that robotics and AI are not just for competitions, but tools that can transform learning into a real-life experience.The Smart Canteen Kiosk with 7 Integrated Sensors is an innovative robotic solution designed to promote nutritional awareness and financial literacy among primary school pupils. The project addresses the common problem of pupils making food choices based on taste or packaging without considering nutritional value or price, often leading to unhealthy eating habits and poor budgeting skills.

The kiosk integrates AI-driven object recognition and nutritional detection with interactive components to provide personalised guidance for each pupil. Using a combination of distance sensor, two colour sensors, LED indicator, motorised nutritious box checker, force sensor, and RFID price checker, the system identifies food items, evaluates their nutritional category, displays prices, and offers real-time visual warnings — green for healthy items and red for limited-consumption items.

This solution is aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Beyond improving individual choices, the kiosk can help canteen operators promote healthier options and improve sales management. The project demonstrates how robotics and AI can be applied to solve real-life problems in schools while inspiring pupils to engage with STEM in meaningful and practical ways.
