MUHAMMAD EZWAN IZZUDDIN BIN ZULKIFLI KOLEJ VOKASIONAL KUANTAN

Falls in the bathroom are a serious issue among the elderly due to physical problems, chronic illnesses, and unsafe environmental conditions. This project aims to develop a Fall Detection and Alert System tailored for elderly individuals, especially those at high risk of falling in the bathroom. This system integrates mmWave radar sensors, Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors, and load cells to detect fall incidents accurately. Powered by the ESP32 microcontroller and using the Blynk application for Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, this system sends notifications to the caregiver's mobile device and makes emergency calls through the SIM900 A GSM module if no movement is detected after a fall incident is detected. This prototype is designed and tested to ensure functionality, efficiency, and user safety. The development of this project aligns with the health term Golden Hour for emergency response, helping to reduce the risk of severe injury or death in a short period. This project contributes to the improvement of safety and quality of life for the elderly, while offering remote monitoring of elderly care in high-risk areas, such as bathrooms.
