SKINLYTIC is an Internet of Things (IoT)-based innovation developed to address the growing issue of inconsistent skincare routines and the inability of users to accurately determine the suitability of face masks for their skin condition. Studies indicate that most users purchase facial masks randomly without proper knowledge of product compatibility, while also lacking discipline in using them consistently. The absence of a smart system capable of real-time skin analysis, such as moisture level, temperature, and skin type (dry, oily, or sensitive), often results in ineffective skincare outcomes.

By integrating IoT sensors into a Smart Mask and synchronising it with a mobile application, SKINLYTIC is able to detect skin condition in real time, provide automated reminders for optimal usage time, and recommend personalised mask selections based on user data analytics. The system also includes an auto-scheduling feature to ensure consistent and regulated application.

Preliminary testing shows a significant improvement in skincare routine adherence (80%) and accuracy of product selection (75%) compared to traditional unguided usage. Overall, SKINLYTIC not only presents an innovative breakthrough in digital beauty technology, but also supports SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing by promoting a systematic, time-efficient, and user-friendly approach to self-care.
