The use of plastic pots in horticulture has a negative impact on the environment as they are not naturally biodegradable. Additionally, the agricultural industry often produces waste materials such as sago pulp, which are underutilized.
Furthermore, potted plants frequently face pest threats, usually controlled with chemical pesticides that can harm plant health and the ecosystem. Therefore, students have developed Ecopot, an eco-friendly pot made from sago pulp and introduced the method of soaking Ecopots in soapnut water to naturally repel insects without affecting plant growth.
